Johannes Becht

I am a German Journalist, Filmmaker, Director, Actor, Digital Marketer / SEO Copywriter and Trader.

I grew up in Pforzheim, Germany. I spent several years of my childhood and teenage years in Heidelberg and Koblenz.

​

At the age of 15, I started working as online news writer and editor on freelance basis in the online department of the Pforzheimer Zeitung, a local daily newspaper. I continued working there until 2019, while also contributing as sports reporter.

 

At the age of 16, in November 2014, I published a music video called "Mein Bizeps brennt," which unintentionally ended up going viral on the internet, collecting over 100 millions of views across various platforms.

After completing high school, I conducted two internships before moving to Frankfurt to pursue a degree in American and English Studies at the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University. During that time, I worked as copywriter for a local travel agency specialising on luxury vacations to South East Africa.

 

At the age of 21, I moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma, USA, to study B.A. Strategic Communication with a minor in Film Production at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

 

During that time, I started working for The Southwestern, the student news site. I almost singlehandedly completed the already planned transition from print to online-only by designing a website and producing content during Covid-19 and started increasing campus-wide recognition and reach of the news site by taking over social media, writing articles, producing videos and taking care of SEO/SEM.

In summer 2022, I conducted an internship at The Lawton Constitution as multimedia reporter which lead to full-time and part-time employment in summer 2023 and fall 2023, respectively. I also currently build my own satire news website Morning News Tonight.

​

I am also contributing to several short and feature films as actor, assistant director and audio/camera assistant. In February 2024, I completed my own short film Pallaton, which is currently being submitted to film festivals.

In March 2024, at the age of 25, I moved to Berlin to work as SEO Copywriter for WEVENTURE.
